UK Grid has also recently launched a company blog, "It's Not Easy Being Green", which will detail the company's work in becoming one of the greenest data centres in the UK and beyond.
Patrick Doyle, Technical Director at UK Grid, said of the decision to launch the blog: "Data Centres have historically been one of the worst offenders in the technology sector for energy inefficiency, with most using between ten to 30 times more energy per square foot than normal office space.
"We need more businesses like ours to be honest about the amount of energy they consume, and we hope that by chronicling our attempts to be greener, we will inspire other businesses to do likewise."
